My name is Marko Gorjup, and from the very beginning, I have built my professional career in an international company within the automotive industry. After completing my studies in mechanical engineering at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Ljubljana, I started working in 1994. Through various positions, I became familiar with the company’s business processes and advanced to the role of director of a subsidiary. In the meantime, I obtained a master’s degree at the Faculty of Economics in Ljubljana, focusing on a dynamic topic from the company, specifically strategy.

As my career progressed, I gradually took on additional leadership roles and, in July 2006, became a member of the management board. In 2016, I assumed the position of Chief Executive Officer of the parent company, a role I held until the conclusion of my tenure with the company. After more than thirty years and the development of the company from a local business to an international corporation with nearly 1,300 employees, I decided to continue my journey as a business consultant and coach.

In my long-standing career, I have achieved numerous significant milestones:

  • Transformation of the company from a mid-sized local manufacturer with 350 employees into an international corporation with nearly 1,300 employees, supplying products to every continent worldwide.
  • Repeated development and implementation of company strategies.
  • Restructuring operations and transitioning from a Tier 3, 4 supplier to a Tier 1 supplier in the automotive industry.
  • Acquiring new clients such as BMW, Volvo, Daimler Trucks, Brose, Grammer, and others.
  • Operational reorganization and establishment of in-house development capabilities, transitioning the company from a non-development supplier to a pre-development and development supplier in the automotive industry.
  • Creation of an innovation system within the company, which over 15 years resulted in more than 20,000 innovations and innovative proposals.
  • Recognition through awards, including the Golden Award of the Republic of Slovenia for business excellence.
  • Successful leadership of the Chamber of Commerce for the Dolenjska and Bela krajina region between 2021 and 2025.
  • Advancing automation and digitization, positioning the company as one of the most automated and digitized firms in the region.
  • In 2020, I was honored by the Association of Mechanical Engineers of Slovenia and the Academy of Mechanical Engineering with an award for the global impact of Slovenian engineering.

I possess an excellent understanding of the automotive industry, supported by over 30 years of experience in this field. Due to the nature of my work, I have acquired extensive international and multicultural experience while working with customers and suppliers abroad. I have also gained significant business experience with foreign partners.

As the CEO of the parent company, I worked alongside the directors of individual subsidiaries to shape the overall corporate strategy, while striving to uphold the company’s core values: perseverance, innovation, adaptability, reliability, and collaboration. I ensured that these values and the company culture were not only instilled in my leadership team but also shared with all employees. I continually guided my colleagues towards innovative thinking, investments in modern production equipment, and, in particular, substantial investments in research and development.

In 2018, my team and I secured a historic nomination from BMW for the pre-development, development, and production of a structural chassis component, marking one of the largest projects in Slovenia’s automotive industry. These components will be integrated into six million vehicles, including both traditional and electric powertrains. In the same year, we also received a nomination from Volvo Cars for the development and production of aluminum structural chassis and body components, designed to support and protect the electric powertrain. This project further solidified our presence in the electric vehicle sector.

In June 2025, I successfully completed coach training through a program accredited as Level 2 by the ICF Accredited Coaching Education.
